SEATTLE — Drivers, beware.
Major freeway closures are set for this weekend in western Washington, closing several lanes of Interstate 405 and Interstate 5, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
I-5 closures
Southbound lanes of I-5 are reduced over the Ship Canal Bridge in Seattle from 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3. Drivers should expect lane reductions 24 hours a day over the weekend as part of the Revive I-5 preservation project .
During the closure, crews will be cutting concrete and installing new drainage structures on the bridge’s southbound lanes.
Express lanes are only open to southbound I-5 traffic over the weekend, so northbound drivers may also see some delays.
