EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — A partnership between East Hartford Public Schools and the Connecticut Science Center is bringing new opportunities to the town’s elementary students.

The East Hartford school district announced Wednesday the opening of a new STEM lab, which was launched to offer students enhanced hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The lab debuted on Oct. 20, as the first fifth-grade classes began visiting the space at the high school on Forbes Street.

This school year, all 450 fifth-grade students in East Hartford will visit the lab twice to participate in extended STEM lessons designed and instructed by educators from the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford.
