PITTSFIELD, Ill. (WGEM) - WIU President Kristi Mindrup visited the John Wood Community College Southeast Education Center in Pittsfield Wednesday.

Mindrup was able to meet with community members and school representatives to talk about resources available at the Pittsfield campus and how the two schools can create educational opportunities for students.

Currently, 3% of all JWCC students currently transfer to WIU and Mindrup said she is looking for ways to improve that number.

“We want to create as much access as possible for students from John Wood Community College, give them awareness about the programs we have at WIU and also the fact that we do offer a smaller university experience with excellent academic opportunities,” said Mindrup.
