BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - To Kenny Lacy, his son Kyren was a superhero.
But underneath that smile, the former LSU football standout was fighting a silent battle no one could see.
“He was really battling a tough, tough battle, but we didn’t know how tough that battle was because he made sure we didn’t know, because he didn’t want us to go through that battle with him,” Lacy said.
Kyren Lacy died by suicide in April. Before his death, the 24-year-old was at the center of a high-profile investigation. Louisiana State Police arrested him for his alleged involvement in a fatal crash earlier this year.
His father said the stress of that case weighed heavily on Kyren, and no one saw the warning signs.
