HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kamehameha Maui won its first conference title since 2017, breaking a near decade-long drought.
The hard-fought victory came in five sets against Upcountry rival King Kekaulike, the only team to hand them a loss all season.
“It was a cinematic match, I think is the best way to describe it. A roller coaster of emotions for sure. Hats off to King Ke, you know, they brought their best game and we brought our best game and both sides truly battled until the very end,” said head coach Sienna Davis.
Davis, a 2013 Kamehameha Maui graduate, is fairly new to life as a head coach.
With a background in education, Davis focused on creating a healthy environment for her student-athletes when she took over two years ago.
