FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was killed after being shot in southwest Fresno on Wednesday night.

Police say it happened around 6:30 p.m. near Poppy and Lorena avenues.

On scene, officers found the victim, who they describe as a man in his late 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Emergency Medical Services provided aid, but police say he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
