The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation was called to investigate an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday evening.

The shooting occurred after officers responded just after 5 p.m. to a violent person with a weapon in the 600 block of Brunson Avenue. Officers said upon arrival, shots were fired, and one person was injured.

The subject was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.

Chief Michael Pickett made a brief statement Wednesday evening. He did not take questions.

No officers were injured.
