During the proceedings, Sharma said the government had failed to hold a promised discussion on a resolution concerning flood-affected people. “We were assured that the House would take up the issue of flood victims, but the discussion never happened. The government has displayed utter indifference to their suffering, which is why we are walking out,” he said.

He added that thousands of flood-hit residents had been waiting for a clear response on relief and rehabilitation measures but were left disheartened
