The district court has ordered the demolition of Himachal's Sanjauli Mosque.
A district court in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, has upheld the municipal commissioner’s order to demolish the entire Sanjauli mosque, ending a 16-year legal battle. The court delivered its verdict on Thursday, rejecting the appeal filed by the Muslim Welfare Society, which had challenged the decision of the Shimla Municipal Corporation.
Earlier, the demolition had been temporarily halted following the Society’s petition. However, the court has now ruled that the entire structure must be removed, restoring the commissioner’s earlier orders.
