Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, Starlink Satellite Communications Pvt. Ltd., is gearing up to officially begin its operations in India. The company has started technical and security demo runs in Mumbai this week, marking its first concrete step towards launching satellite internet services in the country.
FIRST OFFICE IN MUMBAI
Starlink has leased 1,294 square feet of office space in Mumbai’s Chandivali area for about Rs 2.33 crore for five years.
This marks Starlink’s first official presence in India, a key move as it prepares to introduce high-speed internet services powered by satellites.
TECHNICAL TRIALS UNDERWAY
The company is conducting demo runs in Mumbai on October 30 and 31 to showcase the capabilities of its satellite network.
