The Harrisburg mayor’s race has been marked by more silence than candidates’ sparring. That’s because incumbent Mayor Wanda Williams ruled out debating her challenger , city Treasurer Dan Miller, early in the general election campaign.

Heading into the unusual campaign’s final days, Miller conceded the lack of going toe-to-toe with Williams has left him at something of a disadvantage.

“People can’t see us side by side,” Miller lamented. “And that has given her, in a way, an advantage because we haven’t debated.”
