Union Home Minister Amit Shah today paid tribute to the founder of the Arya Samaj, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, on his death anniversary. In a social media post, Mr. Shah said that Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati played an unforgettable role in making the knowledge of the Vedas accessible to the common people in simple language.
He said Maharshi Dayanand led movements to secure women’s rights for education, equality, and dignity, while also awakening society against social evils such as child marriage, the purdah system, and sati.
