The Baltimore Ravens played three games without the services of their starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson, after he suffered a hamstring injury.
The two-time NFL MVP will be returning to the Ravens' lineup as they prepare to face the Miami Dolphins on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 9.
The Ravens (2-5) have gotten off to a slow start while dealing with numerous injuries on both sides of the ball. That said, their Week 7 bye came at a good time and allowed them to get some key defensive personnel back for their Week 8 win over the Chicago Bears.
With Jackson returning, Baltimore could be poised to go on a run to get itself back into the AFC playoff race. The Ravens' next four opponents have a combined 8-23 record, including the team's Week 9 road date with the 2-6 Dolphins.
Miami is fresh off a key win of its own against the Atlanta Falcons. The Dolphins routed the Falcons 34-10 behind a season-best four touchdowns from Tua Tagovailoa and an excellent outing by the team's much-maligned run defense.
Can the Dolphins find similar success against the Ravens? Tagovailoa will face a tougher task against a Baltimore defense that is getting healthier. At the same time, the Ravens also have Derrick Henry, who figures to be an extremely difficult matchup for the Dolphins' leaky run defense.
If the Ravens can exploit that weakness, they may have a chance to notch another win and continue their climb back up the AFC North standings.
