Two people were killed and an equal number injured after a heavy crane fell from an under-construction railway bridge onto two pickup jeeps passing under the bridge on the service lane in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

As per the police, the mishap occurred at the Sagor area of the Pithampur industrial town.

The crane was lifting a heavy cement slab but lost its balance and fell down the bridge onto the two vehicles passing underneath.

According to Dhar SP Mayank Awasthi, two people traveling in the pickup jeeps were killed, and ten were injured.

One of the deceased was a local resident, while the other one was from the Sehore district.
