During the 2023-24 college basketball season, when Elijah Fisher was at DePaul, the two Big East games against Seton Hall were not circled on his calendar.

Quite the opposite.

“We never wanted to play against Seton Hall because they had the passion – the desire to fight,” Fisher said. “We always looked at that game as, 'Man we’ve got to be ready to fight. They’re going to be physical.'”

Now he’s taking a crash course in that passion, along with 11 other new members of the Hall’s roster as head coach Shaheen Holloway looks to will the program forward after a last-place disaster in 2024-25.

“It is new to me, but it’s nothing I can’t handle,” said Fisher, who appears headed for big minutes at forward in the season ahead. “It’s something I needed – it’s almost like a wake-up call.”
