A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court against the forthcoming film The Taj Story, starring Paresh Rawal, urging judicial intervention. The PIL objects to a poster showing a statue of Lord Shiva emerging from the Taj Mahal dome, claiming it revives the controversial theory of the monument’s Hindu temple origins.

Advocate Shakeel Abbas, who filed the plea, argues that The Taj Story contains “fabricated and provocative content" regarding the Taj Mahal’s origins. He contends that the film’s speculative claims could undermine public trust in history and incite communal tension.
