OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Leaders with Marion Technical college are celebrating the launch of their new diesel and aviation mechanics programs with a special ribbon-cutting on Thursday.
Construction has finished on the college’s newest facility after breaking ground in September of 2023 for a price tag of nearly $5.6 million.
It features a 16,000 square feet classroom and work space for both programs.
“Our biggest excitement is really to have students in these two new buildings, hands on learning that’s what its about. There is a slight delay with the aviation’s mechanics program because we are waiting on the FAA to approve that curriculum and approve that program, that’s coming.” Kevin Christian, Spokesperson at Marion County Public Schools, said.
