Max Ruckdeschel’s roots in political life date back to helping his father, a Democratic committee member in Syracuse, collect petition signatures for candidates.

“My family, really, has always been involved in politics,” he said. “My father worked for the city of Syracuse and was a Democratic committee member. I first got involved walking with him to campaign for candidates in the city and to get petition signatures.”

Ruckdeschel has been an active Democrat in and around Syracuse since then. He’s probably best known as the Onondaga County Democratic Committee chairman. He’s also a town board member in DeWitt and a former Syracuse school board member.
