Coloradans are cheaper and less generous than much of the country when it comes to spending on candy and handing out treats at Halloween .
Those were the main findings about the state from a national survey on Halloween habits sponsored by Solitaired, an online games platform. Colorado is the third-cheapest state when it comes time to buy candy, spending about $39 in a typical year. That’s about $10 less than the national average.
It also finished 11th from the bottom in a broader measure of Halloween generosity that looked at what exactly was handed out to trick-or-treaters and other habits around the holiday.
On the generous side, Colorado is the most likely state to give out full-sized candy bars, with one in nine people surveyed saying they would be handing them out this year. T
