ST. LOUIS — Tuesday’s 5-2 victory in St. Louis was the Red Wings’ 10th game of the season and arguably one of their best.
After two days of intense practice working on defensive issues and concepts, the Wings shut down the struggling Blues and earned their seventh win in the 10 games while putting themselves among the top half of the Eastern Conference standings. The Wings have totally reversed a dismal opening-night loss to Montreal , following it with a five-game winning streak. They also rebounded from consecutive losses to Buffalo and the New York Islanders, with a two-game sweep of St. Louis (including rallying from a 4-0 deficit in the first meeting).
It’s basically only one-eighth of the regular-season schedule and there will be bumps along the way — rest assured of that
