Mumbai: BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) India arm has announced the launch of Sherlock 3CG+ , a technology designed to improve accuracy and efficiency in peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line placement, especially for cancer patients requiring long-term intravenous access .
The launch was marked through a four-city roadshow covering Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
In current clinical practice, confirmation of PICC tip placement in such patients typically requires radiological imaging, which can cause workflow disruptions, procedural delays and patient discomfort. Sherlock 3CG+ aims to address these challenges by enabling clinicians to live-track and navigate PICC lines and confirm catheter tip placement in real time at the bedside.
