Dehradun : The Uttarakhand Forest Department has decided to study the mental condition of elephants that often stray into human settlements. This move comes after a rise in elephant movement in areas like Haridwar and Dehradun, which has caused fear and panic among local residents.
In the last four months, five elephants have died in Haridwar due to electrocution and other reasons. Reports of elephants entering villages and towns are becoming more frequent. To understand why this is happening, the forest department will work with wildlife experts to study elephant behavior, migration routes, and the reasons behind their changing patterns.
