(Divide County, ND) — The “super weed” Palmer amaranth has been found in Divide County. This is the second detection of Palmer amaranth in the state this fall. The invasive weed was discovered on the edge of a wheat field and is currently being managed. The plant was first discovered in North Dakota in 2018, and is now documented in 20 counties and listed as a noxious weed. Residents are urged to report suspect plants to local weed officers or NDSU Extension to help prevent its spread.
