MONTPELIER — The Vermont Arts Council recently announced the 26 recipients of its grant funding program, the Creation Grant, which supports Vermont artists in creating new work.
Among the recipients is Willy Appelman of Dorset, who serves as scholarships and education coordinator for Weston Theater Company. Appleman will use the funds to support the development, rehearsal, and production of a comedic solo show, according to a press release from the Vermont Arts Council.
This year’s awarded proposals a include works that will span visual arts, literary arts, dance, music, film, and multidisciplinary fields, including a new episode of “Wild Foods” on PBS; the production of a live storytelling show about motherhood; and a six-track musical recording project fusing Ghanaian American vocals w
