Vernon Kay has offered an apology after being flooded with messages from The One Show viewers all expressing their dismay over his appearance.

Responding to a query from one of his BBC Radio 2 programme listeners during today's broadcast, Vernon, who presented The One Show last night (October 27), revealed that a "lot of people actually got in touch".

During an early portion of his programme, Vernon was questioned about why he hadn't donned his baggy jeans on the BBC show.

This presumably relates to Monday morning's Radio 2 transmission, during which Vernon disclosed that he had been ridiculed over a "horrendous" sartorial decision.

Despite the backlash, he boldly announced his plans to sport the garment again on The One Show, reports the Manchester Evening News .
