A woman is facing attempted murder charges after a man was shot on Interstate 95 in Deerfield Beach, deputies said.

Breanna Evans, 26, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, and one count of shooting from a vehicle.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened on Wednesday afternoon on I-95 north near Palmetto Park Road and Hillsboro.

The man who was shot was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, officials said.

His identity was not released.

Investigators said Evans and the victim did not know each other, but the incident appeared to be due to road rage.

The investigation remains active.
