CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Clemson University has released a statement on a proposed housing development that some claim is a conflict of interest between President Clements and land development.

The concerns made by Oconee County Council Chairman Matthew Durham and county residents are centered around a proposal to build 5,200 housing units on 600 acres in Newry.

The university said it has not been involved in the project.
