The latest exercise undertaken by the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh to restructure revenue divisions and mandals in line with the new district boundaries is said to be aimed at disturbing the vote bases of YSR Congress party.

According to sources, the cabinet sub-committee, which is studying key proposals, including the adjustment of assembly constituency boundaries, is focussing on the revenue divisions where the YSRCP is strong.

By disturbing them in the name of reorganisation, the TDP-led coalition is planning to curtail the influence of the YSRCP, though on record, the officials say the move is aimed at ensure administrative balance and regional equity, besides streamlining governance and aligning political and revenue jurisdictions.
