Srinagar, Oct 30: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian seized two JCBs involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from the Keegam and Zainapora areas.

An official said that one JCB found extracting minerals illegally without valid royalty documents were seized by Police party of Police Post Keegam during routine patrolling. Consequently, FIR No. 232/2025 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation has been taken up.

Similarly, Police party from Police Station Zainapora during routine patrolling seized another JCB engaged in illegal extraction of minerals from Rambiara Nallah near Aglar.
