A California man is headed to prison after trying to smuggle meth-caked clothes — including a cow onesie — in his luggage for a flight bound to Australia from Los Angeles .

Raj Matharu, 31, was sentenced to three years behind bars, according to Courthouse News Service . He pleaded guilty in June to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California said in a press release .

He initially faced at least 10 years in prison but prosecutors agreed to waive the minimum as it was his first offense and was serving a "minor role" as a drug courier. Instead, the government asked for a 41-month prison sentence , per its memorandum. Matharu's attorney requested a year behind bars.
