India batter Shreyas Iyer on Thursday expressed his heartfelt gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their constant support as he continues to recover from a serious injury sustained during the recently concluded ODI series against Australia.
The 30-year-old suffered a rib cage injury while taking a spectacular catch in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground and was immediately rushed to a local hospital for evaluation.

Subsequent scans revealed that the injury was more severe than initially feared, with doctors confirming a laceration to the spleen, which required Iyer to be admitted to the ICU for observation.
