As more than 40 million Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients face not having access to benefits starting Nov. 1, DoorDash will deliver the equivalent of one million free meals nationwide and is waiving fees for 300,000 SNAP recipients' grocery orders in November.
The delivery platform said it is waiving merchant fees for the more than 300 food banks and pantries signed onto its Project DASH initiative, equaling an estimated 1 million meals for next month. It will also donate food from DashMart stores to local food banks.
