SRINAGAR : The Jammu Kashmir Government has disclosed that unpaid bills amounting to more than Rs 2,700 crore remain pending on account of contractors’ dues and General Provident Fund (GPF) liabilities, even as significant payments have been made during the current financial year. In a written reply to a question raised by MLA Mir Mohammad Fayaz, the Finance Department said unpaid bills of contractors stand at Rs 205.70 crore, while pending GPF liabilities amount to Rs 2,499.68 crore.
The Government, however, noted that an aggregate amount of Rs 1,890 crore has been disbursed to contractors and Rs 1,953.80 crore released towards GPF claims during the current financial year 2025–26, as of October 16, 2025.
