The Boston Red Sox made the postseason this year, but the team could be in search of more power bats this offseason. The team traded its biggest power threat, Rafael Devers, during the season.
The Red Sox trading Devers was a shock. However, the team still made the postseason, and Roman Anthony's debut gave the fans hope for years to come. Regardless, it does not change the fact that the team needs some more home run hitters. Trading Devers, most importantly, dumped his contract on the San Francisco Giants, giving the Red Sox money to work with.
Two of the best power hitters in baseball are going to be available in free agency. Kyle Schwarber and Pete Alonso are second and third in home runs since 2019. Only Aaron Judge has hit more homers than the two stars. The Athletic's Jen McCaffre
