A man was arrested late Wednesday night, accused of firing a gun in a bar and injuring a woman there, the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office said

John Green II, 52, was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the parish jail on counts of aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm on the premises of an alcoholic beverage outlet, resisting an officer and multiple violations of probation, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where she is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

"Guns and alcohol do not mix, and bringing dangerous weapons into bars is illegal," Sheriff Brett Stassi said.
