UNION COUNTY, S.C. —

A Union County, South Carolina, man is headed to prison after videos of him sexually assaulting a child were found by the victm's grandmother, authorities announced Thursday.

On May 3, 2022, deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office said they met with a grandmother who reported finding two disturbing videos on an Amazon tablet used by her 9-year-old granddaughter.

Authorities said the videos, recorded in April 2022, appeared to show 41-year-old Mark Lucas Thomas committing sexual acts on the child.

The videos also appeared to have been recorded by another minor, authorities said.

Based on the evidence, deputies obtained arrest and search warrants.
