DES MOINES, Iowa —

U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, of Iowa, is calling for a popular wedding planning website to be investigated.

Grassley, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, says The Knot is deceiving people who use it. He claims the committee has received hundreds of whistleblower reports, including from Iowans.

Grassley says small businesses accuse the site of not advertising their services as contracted, and failing to provide discounts promised to customers.

In a letter to the Federal Trade Commission , Grassley asks the agency to investigate the site. He says the reports he's gotten show that these are not isolated incidents.

The company has previously denied any wrongdoing.
