John Flaherty’s time at the YES Network has come to an end after two decades.
The former Yankees catcher turned analyst and occasional play-by-play man tweeted that the network did not offer him a contract for the 2026 season on Wednesday. A YES spokesperson confirmed that Flaherty, as well as part-time analysts Jeff Nelson — another ex-Yankee — and Dave Valle, will not return.
“I am very grateful for my 20 years at the network,” the 58-year-old Flaherty wrote. “I want to thank the Yankees and especially the Yankee fans. Thank you for letting me be a little part of your day for 20 seasons!”
