Davis Schneider wasted no time making a huge impact in Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday night.
Schneider blasted the first pitch of the game off Blake Snell, helping power the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers as the team took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Now, the Eastern Regional High School graduate is one win away from a championship ring.
The series resumes Friday night in Toronto.
Schneider, 26, hit leadoff for the Blue Jays and crunched a 96-mph fastball from Snell for a 373-foot homer into the left-field bleachers. It was Schneider’s first postseason homer.
