Has Josh Minott earned himself a permanent spot in the Celtics’ starting lineup? That’s hard to say, considering head coach Joe Mazzulla’s stated plan to shuffle that group more often this season based on matchups and other factors.
But through two auditions, the high-energy wing has looked the part.
After finishing as a plus-42 in Monday night against New Orleans in his first NBA start, Minott posted one of the best all-around stat lines of his career Wednesday against Cleveland. The fourth-year pro tallied 11 points, a career-high 15 rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and one turnover in 33 minutes as Boston blew out the favored Cavaliers 125-95 at TD Garden.
Following an 0-3 start to the season, the Celtics have won both of Minott’s starts by a combined 52 points.
