PEORIA, Ill. – A man will spend time in prison after he was livestreaming with a weapon last year in South Peoria.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 19-year-old D’Berry Coleman was sentenced to six-and-a-half years on Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Coleman pleaded guilty to Unlawful Use of Weapons in August.
Police observed Coleman, who was 17 at the time, streaming live on Instagram while displaying a firearm that was equipped with a “switch” to make it a fully automatic weapon in April of last year.
Police say the weapon also had an extended magazine. The weapon was recovered by police.
Coleman was initially charged as a juvenile, but his case was transferred to adult court.
