WASHINGTON — Some legendary pieces of historic television memorabilia just found a new home, for a very high price.
Two leather jackets worn by actor Henry Winkler during his time as "The Fonz" on the ABC sitcom “Happy Days” recently sold for $87,500 and $75,000, respectively. The purchases were part of a major television memorabilia auction held Oct. 24 by Heritage Auctions.
The event, titled The Stewart Berkowitz Television Treasures Hollywood/Entertainment Signature Auction, featured more than 1,500 online and phone bidders from around the world. It marked the public unveiling of the late Dr. Stewart Berkowitz’s extensive private collection of classic pop culture memorabilia.
