A 23-year-old Maybee man is facing charges after he allegedly led deputies on a high-speed chase from Monroe to Melvindale before being arrested, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office .
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 10:55 p.m., deputy Zachery Marzouq attempted a traffic stop on a U-Haul box truck for a traffic offense at West Front and Cass Street. The vehicle, occupied only by the driver, didn't stop. A pursuit began and went north into and around Frenchtown Township. The vehicle was able to evade stop sticks on Nadeau Road before entering northbound I-75.
"During the pursuit the driver began throwing items out of the windows," said a release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
