A water main break along South Main Street near Canal Place in downtown Akron has affected several businesses, including the International Institute of Akron, which will be closed today due to the break.

The Bounce Innovation Hub will also be closed today, the nonprofit organization said on Facebook .

Water service also has been disrupted at the AES Building, where the Greater Akron Chamber, Better Business Bureau, Akron Beacon Journal and other offices are located. Affected water customers have been told the service outage could last throughout the day.

The Beacon Journal has reached out to Akron city officials to request additional information about the situation.
