When the Calgary Flames take on the Ottawa Senators on Thursday, they’ll do so without their top prospect.
Defenceman Zayne Parekh will not play in Ottawa while he deals with a minor ailment, per Sportsnet’s Eric Francis.
The blueliner has played in nine games this season, registering one assist in 15:53 of average ice time.
The 19-year-old was named the top CHL defender in his draft year of 2024, when he was selected fifth overall by the Flames.
Forward Connor Zary also will not play against the Senators as a healthy scratch, while Matt Coronato remains in the lineup.
Zary, playing in his third season, has one goal and one assist in 11 games.
