POUGHKEEPSIE — The Woodstock Day School (WDS) in Saugerties traveled to the Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie for the Hudson Valley Athletic League Cross Country Championships on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and won the league title.
It was the school’s first championship in any sport and in that sense a historic occasion.
Throughout the season, the top teams in the league were EF Academy, Storm King School, and Oakwood Friends School. However, the WDS squad was competitive in each league competition. After an excellent showing at the Marblewood Invitational on October 22, the team appeared poised for a “breakout” race.
