As the slow death of the Melbourne mullet ensues, the smooth transition into the equally class appropriating hairstyle of the Rats Tail picks up momentum.

Today, local East Brunswick man Riley Duncan made the brave leap by cutting off what is left of his hair excluding one very special tuft at the back of his head.

Speaking to the advocate, Duncan expressed some feelings of hesitancy about the authenticity of his new cut.

“Don’t get me wrong, I like it but I never really fully committed to the mullet trend. It wasn’t nearly as long as some of the Brunswick mullets I’ve seen bouncing around,” he said.
