FARGO — Before Roberta Quintero had the idea for her business she had its name.
It came to her as she was driving one day.
"The word 'HOOFDA' just came to me and it stuck with me," Quintero says. "I didn't know what it was, but I knew there was something there. Something meaningful. It's almost like the word found me."
She soon began associating HOOFDA with her childhood growing up on a farm near Pekin, N.D.
Quintero and her five siblings spent their summers outdoors, doing chores such as stacking hay and picking rocks. But it wasn't all work. She also fondly remembers attending softball tournaments at the Red Willow Resort, where a herd of bison could often be seen grazing nearby.
