Parts of the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) were shut down during the Friday morning rush hour commute after a deadly crash, with at least one person fleeing the scene and another ejected from a car.
The crash occurred about 5:48 a.m. on I-94 northbound near Marquette Road, Illinois State Police said.
According to ISP, three people were inside a vehicle at the time of the crash. One occupant fled the scene, and another was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries.
A third occupant was ejected from the vehicle, ISP said, and succumbed to their injuries.
ISP said it wasn't yet known how the crash occurred, or the circumstances surrounding it.
