This week, we pick up our occasional series detailing and discussing the various papers and chapters in the Kent Historical Society’s 1939 publication, Kentiana.

We have reached the sixth of these, Tecumseh, by Victor Lauriston.

Anyone interested in Chatham-Kent history knows that name. Lauriston published the best-known history of our county, Romantic Kent, in 1953. But many younger people and folks new to Chatham-Kent might not know anything about him.

First off, Victor Lauriston was not his name. He was born William Edward Park on Oct. 16, 1881, in the hamlet of Fletcher.
